Your work attire does not have to be boring. Even if you are in a conservative office, you can bring your personality (within reason) out in your wardrobe. You can be both fashionable and professional. You do not have to pick one over the other.

Incorporating your personality into your work attire is also a great way to set yourself apart from everyone else in the office. Personal branding is key in promoting yourself in the workplace. The way you promote yourself can be the difference in you getting that next promotion or raise.

Being fashionable and appropriate in a work setting can be tricky. You want to be cute while staying within the dress code. While accomplishing this can be tricky, it can be done. Here are a few things you can do to take your work wardrobe from drab to fab.

Add a Pop of Color

One thing I use to bring a little of my personality into my work attire is to add a little color. Now I’m known to wear bright colors to the office no matter the season. Whether it’s a hot pink blouse or a pair of green slacks. Now if you are in a more conservative office you can bring in color with the blouse you wear under your suit.

It’s All About the Shoes Honey

Now shoes are almost an obsession for me. This is another way I add my personality to my work attire. I’m a heels person, so I cute pair of statement heels are apart of my everyday wardrobe. Well unless I’m going to a power plant for the day, then it’s a good ole pair of steel toes.

Make a Statement (Piece)

Now it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make a shameless plug about jewelry. Another great way to add a little personality to your everyday work wear is with a great statement necklace or earrings. Accessories or a great way to take a plain outfit to another level. Here are few statement pieces that will help dress up your wardrobe.

People form an opinion of you within the first 7 seconds of meeting you. What first impressions are you making? Does your attire say I’m here and ready to be a boss? Or is it saying I’m just here?
