Backyard Bliss: We’re Finally Done!
Y’all, it’s DONE! The backyard is officially complete, and I am just over here smiling like I’ve got the best seat in the house, because now, I actually do.
I worked with an amazing landscaping team to turn vision into a reality. The original plan was good, but once things started taking shape, we made a few changes that took it to the next level.
The Glow-Up Details
Those gorgeous sago palms, elephant ears, and caladiums? They had a little rough patch while I was away on vacation, let’s just say they didn’t exactly get the spa treatment. But now, they’re in their new home on the hill, and I’m giving them all the TLC they need so they can grow back, fill out, and really flourish. Soon, they’ll bring back that full, layered look I’ve been dreaming about.
And because beauty and function have to live together, the team installed a trench lined with big decorative rocks for drainage. Not only is it smart, but it also adds a little texture to the space.
From Bare to Beautiful
Fresh sod went down and instantly made everything look lush and vibrant. We also added an irrigation system, because while I love this yard, I’m not about to be out here dragging hoses for the rest of the summer.
Furniture? ✔️ In place and ready for guests.
Ceiling fan? ✔️ Installed and spinning, keeping things cool under the covered area.
Relaxation factor? ✔️ Off the charts.
My New Favorite Spot
This backyard went from “one day we’ll get to it” to “why would we ever leave?” in just a few weeks, and I love how it all came together. Morning coffee, evening hangs, weekend cookouts, this space is ready for it all.
